Unshakable faith

Mark 5:25-34 NLT
25 A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding. 26 She had suffered a great deal from many doctors, and over the years she had spent everything she had to pay them, but she had gotten no better. In fact, she had gotten worse. 27 She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched his robe. 28 For she thought to herself, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.” 29 Immediately the bleeding stopped, and she could feel in her body that she had been healed of her terrible condition.
30 Jesus realized at once that healing power had gone out from him, so he turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my robe?”
31 His disciples said to him, “Look at this crowd pressing around you. How can you ask, ‘Who touched me?’”
32 But he kept on looking around to see who had done it. 33 Then the frightened woman, trembling at the realization of what had happened to her, came and fell to her knees in front of him and told him what she had done. 34 And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.”
Unshakeable faith. The woman who bled had no doubt that she would be healed by the Great Physician. It was not logical and not based on the knowledge at the time. She was an outcast in society, a person shunned, and in most people’s eyes, undeserving.
Yet she believed with her body, mind, and spirit. This belief manifested her faith that made the impossible possible. No human taught her this; rather, it was her relationship with God that brought her to this knowing. She knew that Yeshua/Jesus Christ was and is God incarnate and that anything is possible through Him.
She did not say, “ I heard many healings happen around this man so I’m going to try to see what happens for me” nor did she say, “ I’m not worthy, and I will be ridiculed so I can’t go to him” nor “It’s been too long for me to heal” nor “I will try Jesus’ healing and a witch’s healing and hopefully one of them will work”.
The woman was not double minded and put her full faith and trust in her savior. She had no back up plan, no understanding of how it would happen, only that it will happen. This is how her miracle happened.
What is even more intriguing is the record of a healing power leaving Jesus Christ and going into the woman’s body. Her belief and trust allowed the Holy Spirit to enter her body and work in and through her. It is a foreshadowing of the Book of Acts, where the followers of Christ had the Holy Spirit come upon them and gifts of wonders, signs, healing, and prophecy occurred through them.
Acts 1:8 NLT
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

For us, being in the body of Christ allows us the ability for God to work through us. We can be His hands His feet, or His mouthpiece. His Glory can be seen through us, as our bodies are His holy temples. Knowing this, we have to truly be a set apart people and cannot conform to the customs of the fallen world. We must guard our minds, our bodies, and spirits while growing our intimacy with our savior.
I have had my trials and tribulations where my belief and faith in Abba Father has pulled me out of situations that I cannot humanly explain. In those instances, I knew, without fear or question, that God will make a way. I put my full trust in Him, without doubting and thinking of “what ifs”. In those moments I did not have double mindedness or try to make any deals. Just blind faith and trust.
And that is when I have witnessed absolute miracles, but just in my life but in the lives of many others. Unfortunately, my mindset is not this strong all the time. We live in a world that suppresses and attacks the supernatural, while we are inundated with messages that all is hopeless. Our reality becomes shaped by our environment, and the doubt and fear can creep in.
That is why we must encourage one another in the body of Christ, holding each other accountable and lifting each other up. When one is weak, another one comes to “hold the faith” until they are strong enough on their own. When we work together using our unique qualities and gifts, the impossible becomes possible.
This week reach out to someone and ask if you can pray for them. Lay hands on them and ask for the Holy Spirit to work through you. Pray for the gift of unshakeable faith so you can stand strong in the promises of God, and not cave to the pressures of the fallen world.
I know we will experience the Glory of God together in the body of Christ.

Mark 16:17-18 NLT
17 These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages.[a] 18 They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.”
