Dearest Tribe Members,

Have you ever stopped to consider just how wonderful and loved you are? Do you know who you are in our Creator’s eyes?

This month I have been reading the book of Genesis, and it has been uplifting and illuminating to read about how we are created. And not only does it give us the story of us, it gives us our identity, function and purpose. 

​Genesis 1:1

In the beginning, God made the heavens and the Earth. The Earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep, and the spirit of God was moving over the surface of the water. 

As we read chapter 1 of the book of Genesis we see that in the beginning God began to create through movement when he hovered over the water. He then spoke into existence light and named the light Day. 

He later commanded the earth to sprout vegetation and animals, and it was so. He commanded the waters to teemwith swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth, and it was so. Each creation was given an environment that declared where it belongs and how it is meant to live. 

Fish were created in the waters, and this is where they belong and thrive. Take them out of the waters and they die. It is not just their home, it is their lifeline. 

Trees, flowers, deer and lions were created on the earth, and this is where they belong and thrive. Take them out of the earthand they cannot live. They are not made to be in water or air, and thus the earth is their home and their lifeline. 

And now comes the most beautiful part of the story. After God conducts the symphony of our world, the heavens in the universe, after he fashions the beauty in the skies, terra, and water, He created man. As a masterpiece to all of creation, the triune God states, Genesis 1:26 “Let us make man in our image according to our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the Earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on earth.”

This time God spoke to himself, not to the waters, not to the earth, nor the air. We originated directly from the Creator, our blueprint is in His image. Our environment and lifeline is in Him, not in this world!  

This revelation came to me this past month as I was reading the book of Genesis. No wonder so many of us have such a difficult time fitting in to this world. We were never meant to walk in the flesh, we were designed to walk and worship in The Spirit. When each one of us finds this intimacy with the true living Creator of All, we finally feel home and know our place. 

God could have spoken to anything to create us. But he chose Himself. Genesis 2:7, Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. 

Can you imagine our father in heaven carefully crafting his masterpiece with the essence of the earth, the inspiration is Himself? He shaped the first man with his hands and then held him close to breathe life into him. That first exhale of the divine nature into man was not just air, it was the Holy Spirit. Perhaps there was a sound accompanied with it -the inhale and exhale of the sacred name YHWH. What a glorious moment to be in the presence of the divine kiss of life!

John 14:20

“ I am in my father, and you are in me, and I am in you.” ​

Are you starting to see how you and I are so set apart from all of creation? We are different, and we are meant to be set apart people- a holy people. We truly came from a divine origin, with the intent that we become like our Savior, with the Holy Spirit within us, looking to our Father to guide us. 

Psalm 139:14 “I will praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”

This revelation gives me such clarity and purpose and fills my soul. It makes me feel alive. The fallen world does not affect me like it used to, and I cherish my identity as a daughter of God. Do you see yourself as His Son or Daughter? Do you see His magnificence in your life?  I have a renewed vigor to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.

Now everything has a purpose that is created. And God made it clear what our purpose is.

Genesis 2:19–20 Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature that was its name.

In this moment, God gave Adam the ability to speak into existence the identities and purposes of His flora and fauna. Nothing else in creation was given this responsibility or power. Words, especially names, can wield a lot of power. They can be full of creative or destructive forces, the choice is ours. 

Genesis 1:28 God blessed them; and God said to them, “ Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the Earth.” 

He gave us dominion over the earth with the task of being caretakers and guardians. He gave us His Spirit and the ability to speak words that constantly affect the world around us and in us. Your words are not just sound, they are part of the orchestra of divine Spirit.  The spoken word is more powerful than a thought- it sends out a frequency and sound into the atmosphere.

Singing, reading scriptures out loud, praying out loud, speaking life and blessings over ourselves and others are things that we all can do. We are born to change the atmosphere of this fallen world into the atmosphere of Heaven. You can be a beacon of hope for a lost soul by just entering a room with the presence of the Holy Spirit, using your words for blessings and healing, and allowing the light and truth to scatter the darkness. Be different and set apart. Have faith and belief that God is with us and that His Spirit dwells in the tabernacles of our bodies. Our Father has created all of us for this very moment in time.
